UNFCCC
Gender and Climate Change Newsletter

Parties to the UNFCCC have recognized the importance of involving women and men equally in UNFCCC processes and in the development and implementation of national climate policies that are gender-responsive by establishing a dedicated agenda item under the Convention addressing issues of gender and climate change and by including overarching text in the Paris Agreement.

The UNFCCC gender team supports Parties in the implementation of gender related mandates and thus facilitates Parties’ work towards implementation of gender-responsive climate policy at the regional, national and local levels and towards improved gender balance and increased participation of women in all UNFCCC processes.

This newsletter will keep you informed about current developments on gender and climate change and gender in the UNFCCC process.
